Growing a Bootstrapped Startup in a Pandemic
When we launched Contapp in the app stores at the end of February, we had no idea COVID-19 was going to be a global pandemic, come March 2020. Especially as a bootstrapped tech startup who focuses on slower organic growth. It may have seemed crazy at the time on how we would survive, but we are living proof that it can be done with smart money and careful planning.
Since then, Contapp has transformed into a business tool that is a necessity when it comes to managing business cards digitally. Not only for the hygienic and sustainable reason, but it’s a huge convenience to stay better connected in business.
Our Most Successful Quarter Ever
Fast forward to the end of the 3rd quarter of the calendar year and we have just smashed our record quarter ever! After a few app tweaks, lots of planning, amendments to our roadmap and a huge amount of user feedback, we managed a very successful last 3 months.
The Numbers Behind the Growth
We’ve had an incredible growth in downloads for the Google Play Store & Apple App Store, a combined growth of 1,299% when compared to the previous 3 months.
- Google Play Store downloads increased by 999%
- Rated 4.7 stars by all users that left a review
- Apple App Store downloads increased by 300%
- Rated 5 stars by all users that left a review
Of course, this could not have been done without our incredible user base and our in-house teams. Although we have users in all 4 corners of the world, our top 3 countries by user downloads are the UK, USA and India. Kudos to all of you!
We’re looking forward to revealing what we have planned for Contapp as a streamlined business platform in the near future, it’s very exciting indeed…
